Marvin Pentz Gay, Jr. (born April 2, 1939 in Washington, D.C.; died April 1, 1984 in Los Angeles, California), was a Grammy award winning R&B, soul and doo-wop singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known as The Prince of Soul. Originally a member of the doo-wop group The Moonglows, he pursued a solo career after the group disbanded and released many successful solo hits including How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You), Sexual Healing, I Heard It Through the Grapevine and Let’s Get It On.

In 1999, Anis/AniSS (Vocal, Guitar, songs, arrangements) and Ali (Bass, Guitar, songs, arrangements) met at MTV Japan and ended up forming MONORAL. They debuted with “in stereo” in 2001 performing at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2 days after the release. Since then, they have been causing a major stir within the Japanese Indies scene. Their second mini album “ammonite” (2003) debuted at #3 in the national indies chart and remained in top 30 for 6 month.
