Instra:mental – Watching You
Few artists have had such an immediate impact on drum and bass in recent years as Instra:mental, the highly acclaimed duo of Boddika and Jon Convex. Since their early releases on Soul:r and Darkestral, the pair have been steadily building momentum with a number of influential singles across labels such Exit and Naked Lunch and developing a diverse and unique sound that crosses a range of styles and tempos. Instra:mental have so far forged successful studio partnerships with the likes of Jonny L, Skream, Burial and most notably dBridge, with whom they have hosted the Autonomic podcast series.
Nominated for “Best Breakthrough Producers” in DJ Magazine’s Best of British awards in 2009, this accolade only tells half the story. The duo has seen the launch of their label NonPlus+, the start of residencies for Fabric and Rinse FM and a whole host of international appearances including festivals in Croatia and Sardinia plus a tour of Japan.

Bobby Caldwell (born August 15, 1951 in New York City) is an American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who, despite a prolific musical output over his 30-year career, is still best known for his 1978 hit single “What You Won’t Do for Love.” While he has always maintained a devoted fan base in the United States, a more legendary status has been bestowed upon him in Japan.
The ‘Brookes Brothers’, or Phil and Dan to their mates, have emerged as one of the major breakthrough drum n bass artists of recent years. Raised in London, the two brothers discovered a love for the more soulful sounds of drum’n’bass around the turn of the millenium. It was not long before they began producing in 2002. Fast forward six years and the brothers have already established themselves as some of the most exciting producers on the scene. Their debut 12” ‘Portal/Desert Island’ came out on Danny Wheeler’s W10 imprint to immediate acclaim, setting the Brookes’ on their road to success.
EZ Rollers are Alex Banks and Jay Hurren – two longtime friends from the small East Anglian town of Beccles. This may seem unusual to those outside of drum & bass circles, but Beccles is actually a hotbed of drum & bass talent. Besides EZ Rollers, acts associated with the town include PFM, Flytronix, JMJ & Richie and Hyper-on Experience. JMJ is actually Jay from EZ Rollers and Hyper-on is Alex’s former project with Danny Flytronix.

He started playing/mixing records with tape decks & old turntables and became a passionate breakdancer.
