Thieves Like Us – Shyness

Thieves Like Us – Shyness
Thieves Like Us is a five-piece band based in Berlin, Germany and Paris, France. With a true charm, they developed a fresh, romantic aesthetic between a pop, funky, naïve universe à la Hot Chip and the German krautrock scene. As all parties seemed to be mainly soundtracked by electro and techno, they began to DJ, playing old Krautrock, italo disco, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Factory Records stuff, and even new hip-hop. Later on they discovered French filter house and added this to their repertoire. Their first album titled “Play Music” was recorded in Berlin, London, New York City and Stockholm and released in 2008.

Sly & Robbie – High Voltage Syndrome

Sly & Robbie may well be the most prolific recording artists ever. One staggering estimate is that they have played on or produced some 200,000 songs. Sly & Robbie are reggae’s longest lasting production team. The rhythm section of drummer Lowell Dunbar (nicknamed Sly after Sly Stone, one of his favorite musicians) and bass guitarist Robert Shakespeare started working together in the mid 1970s, after having established themselves separately on the Jamaican music scene.
One of the most respected electronic composers of the ’90s, Howie B is a sonic polymath whose production work with U2, Bjork, Tricky, Brian Eno, Sinead O’Connor, Sly And Robbie and Everything But The Girl has made him an ace hired gun often called upon to give pop stars credit in the dance world.

Maceo Plex – Sleazy E

Located deep within the circuitry of a mechanical alien host known as Maetrik you will find a complex web of synaptic dispersements resembling what could be called a soul. And this soul which drives it’s host and manipulates it’s every move is finally beginning to emerge. Its name is Maceo Plex. The emergence of such an entity has been the result of a need for feeling, a need for interplanetary funk. We as humans consider this need a feeling, a feeling rooted in emotion, and emotion being the very basis of humanity.
